Siemens MAGNETOM Aera 1.5T MRI

Siemens MAGNETOM Aera 1.5T MRI

  • The latest Tim 4G (Total imaging matrix) and Dot (Day optimizing throughput) technology deliver better and more efficient image quality, compared to other similar devices. It can be adjusted to cater for the needs of different patients, making the examination smoother and cosier
  • The 70 cm wide opening design is suitable for different body sizes, and the depth is 145 cm only so that the head or feet of the examinee can be exposed, which can reduce the fear of confined rooms. With the soft light, it is easy for the examinee to relax
  • DirectRF™ ‘s fully internal RF transmitting and receiving system, to enhance the signal stability and clarity

What is the difference between X-ray and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)?

X-rays visualize the alignment of the spine, whether there is misalignment, degeneration, bone spurs or other problems while MRI shows whether the disc is protruding, the water content of the cartilage and whether there is loss or shedding of cartilage, as well as whether the muscles are torn and the ligaments are damaged, etc. MRI can also be used to assess the degree of nerve compression and to confirm the case of a herniated disc.
